Solar Installation Across Illinois

Statewide solar design and installation for ComEd, Ameren Illinois, MidAmerican, and municipal utility customers, with Illinois Shines paperwork handled for you.

One Installer for the Whole State

Cox Solar Solutions works across Illinois: Chicago and Cook County, the collar-county suburbs, Rockford and Northern Illinois, the Quad Cities, Peoria, Bloomington-Normal, Champaign-Urbana, Springfield, Decatur, the Metro East, and Southern Illinois.

Every system is designed around your roof, your 12-month usage, and the utility that serves your address. In Northern Illinois that is usually ComEd. Across Central and Southern Illinois it is usually Ameren Illinois. The Quad Cities are largely MidAmerican Energy, and many towns run their own municipal electric utility.

Illinois Solar Incentives

Illinois homeowners can still combine several incentives. The Illinois Shines program pays for the renewable energy credits (RECs) your system produces. ComEd and Ameren Illinois customers can receive a $300-per-kW Distributed Generation Rebate on qualifying smart-inverter systems. Illinois' alternate valuation keeps solar from raising your property assessment, and income-eligible households may qualify for Illinois Solar for All.

The federal residential solar tax credit ended for systems installed after 2025, so we model savings using the incentives that are available today.

  • Illinois Shines REC payments
  • ComEd and Ameren $300/kW rebate
  • Solar property tax alternate valuation (PTAX-330)
  • Illinois Solar for All for income-eligible homes
