What to Look for in a Peoria Solar Company

Choosing an installer matters as much as choosing equipment. Before you sign, make sure your installer:

Is an ICC-certified distributed generation installer
Works with an Illinois Shines Approved Vendor and explains the disclosure form
Pulls permits with Peoria or Peoria County and handles inspections
Manages interconnection with Ameren Illinois
Models savings using post-2025 Illinois net metering rules
Provides written workmanship and roof penetration warranties

Solar Incentives for Peoria Homeowners

Peoria homeowners can combine Illinois Shines REC incentives with Ameren Illinois's $300-per-kW Distributed Generation Rebate and Illinois' solar property tax alternate valuation, filed with the Peoria County assessor on form PTAX-330. Income-eligible households may qualify for Illinois Solar for All.

Roof First, Then Solar

Solar panels stay on a roof for 25 years or more, so the roof under them should last as long. Through Cox Roofing & Restoration, we can inspect your roof, repair or replace it, and install solar as one coordinated project, which avoids paying to remove and reinstall panels later.

Battery Backup for Storms and Outages

Severe summer storms and winter weather can knock out power across Peoria County. A home battery keeps essentials like the sump pump, refrigerator, furnace blower, and Wi-Fi running, and lets you use more of your own solar in the evening.
