Under 35 ILCS 200/10-10, Illinois property with a solar energy system can be assessed at the lower of its value with the solar system or its value with a conventional energy system.
How to file
After installation, file form PTAX-330 with your chief county assessment officer. Keep a copy for your records.
- Download PTAX-330 from the Illinois Department of Revenue or your county assessor
- Include your system details and installation date
- If you stop using the system, notify the assessor by certified mail within 30 days
